Types of interviews and how you can ace them
An interview is described as a conversation between an interviewer and an interviewee. It consists of questions and answers to determine whether the interviewee is well suited for the vacancy or post that they are being interviewed for. Interviews take place in different shapes and sizes. No interview can be described as right or wrong. While each type of interview has its pros and cons, it depends on the vacancy, industry, and other factors as to which interview strategy will work the best.
Let's take a look at different types of interviews and how to excel in each one of them.

CI/CD pipelines explained: Everything you need to know
Speed is the key to modern software development. The monolithic all-or-nothing paradigm of traditional waterfall software development has largely been replaced by rapid iterative techniques that support development and release. These techniques go by several names, including continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous deployment.
While each technique offers slight differences, the common emphasis on continuous iteration has changed the nature and power of software development. Businesses can get software to market faster, test innovative new features or architectures while minimizing risk and cost, and effectively refine products over time.
Such iteration relies on well-planned and active pipelines designed to support multiple iterations in various stages of the development cycle simultaneously -- and keep entire development teams constantly busy. As one build is pushed to deployment, the next build undergoes testing, while the very latest build in the cycle is coded.
Let's take a closer look at these continuous approaches, see how each works, weigh the tradeoffs and consider best practices.

RPA vs. BPA vs. DPA: Compare process automation technologies
Automation, the use of machines to perform work, today most commonly refers to the use of computer technologies to perform the tasks humans would otherwise do as part of their jobs.
The use of computer-based process automation is widespread, with organizations deploying a broad range of software tools to help them reach the automation goals they set as part of their larger digital transformation objectives.
Some of the most commonly used options are robotic process automation (RPA), business process automation (BPA) and digital process automation (DPA). Each of the three technologies offers benefits, and each has distinctions that separate it from the others.

Usability of Access Codes
Access codes are a series of numbers, letters, or characters provided to a user when there is a level of identification required to gain entry to an online service, such as the claim code for an online gift certificate. The challenge with access codes is that they need to be unique enough that someone does not access the wrong information by mistake, and they need to be easy enough to enter so that the user can succeed with reasonable effort. The research presented in this paper aims to identify characteristics of access codes that affect user experience. Two between-subjects experiments varied the characteristics of the access codes including the length, characters used, presentation, and case-sensitivity to better understand the impact of the characteristics on user experience. Findings suggest the code length does not affect user experience as much as whether the code is case sensitive or if the letters are presented in upper or lowercase. This paper presents findings from experiments comparing users’ error rate, speed of entry, and ease-of-use with different access codes.

Artificial Intelligence is Reshaping Life On Earth: 101 Examples
Artificial Intelligence (AI) will have more influence on the lives and livelihoods of young people over the next 20 years than any other factor.
This month I’ve been tracking news headlines to get a sense for how widespread AI applications have become. With a couple news alerts and searches I spotted 101 current applications — no SciFi here, these are tools people are using today. And these aren’t just clever algorithms — they are getting better and smarter the more data they interact with.
Though the post is bit dated, the list along with references for further reading is an interesting compilation.
New Resource for University Educators
Engineering education has evolved during the past year. The COVID-19 pandemic forced colleges and universities to close classrooms and shift to remote learning, prompting instructors to adapt their curricula and teaching style. As schools reopen this year using in-person, hybrid, and remote learning models, it has become crucial for teachers to adjust.
To help them, in May IEEE launched its Teaching Excellence Hub, a resource for university-level educators who are teaching engineering, computer science, and technology courses online or in person. The website offers tools they can use to improve their curriculum, manage student teams, and more. The hub is a collaboration between the IEEE Education Society and the IEEE Educational Activities Board.
'"IEEE quickly observed that university faculty did not have the resources or support they needed during the COVID-19 pandemic as they transitioned to remote learning," says Burton Dicht, director of student and academic programs for IEEE Educational Activities. "The IEEE Teaching Excellence Hub is meant to help all university staff access resources and tools they can use in the ever-adapting world of education."
Here is an overview of what the hub offers.
