These 10 platforms are helping small and medium businesses get easy finance with minimum documentation

The MSME sector is growing at a faster rate,  with its consequent contribution to India’s GDP. According to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), MSMEs contribute 6.11 percent to the manufacturing GDP, 24.63 percent to the GDP from service activities, and 33.4 percent to India's manufacturing output. Despite its huge contribution, the sector is considered laid back.

The MSMEs in India often face a cash flow disturbance due to various factors like non-availability of funds, post-dated cheques, late payments, and many more. The sector has immense potential for growth, however, funding is the pre-requisite for any MSME to grow smoothly and the number of restrictions imposed by the banks is making it difficult for the sector to finance their business.

In this technologically-advanced era, fintech players are disrupting this space with their advanced technology and by providing flexible benefits plan to the emerging entrepreneurs. Here are 10 platforms enabling easy access to finance for the MSMEs.

DevOps for Beginners: Resources to Start Your DevOps Journey

Every IT professional has heard of DevOps by now. And most have heard enough to understand that DevOps, at its core, gives teams the tools, workplace culture, and organizational methods to accelerate the software development lifecycle.Dev + Ops illustration

All of this is true, of course, but it also barely scratches the surface of a very deep, and very important, topic. DevOps is transforming how we build software—and in the process, it is transforming how development and operations teams work, think, and collaborate. And if you’re looking for a high-growth, high-value IT career path, DevOps can deliver that, as well.

For many IT pros, however, the first step on a DevOps journey involves a basic grasp of its purpose and principles. That’s why we created this “crash course” in key DevOps-related topics, using resources gathered from New Relic and around the web. This is how the draft NEP is expected to transform the education system in our country.

The Relic Reading List: 15 Essential Books to Upgrade Your Career—and Your Life!

Inspiring books are a great way to take your career to the next level. With so many titles to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start.  Check out the “Relic Reading List.” You’re sure to find something to inspire you!

Secrets you should have learned before your first programming job

It’s an all too common story in many professions: You go to school for years and walk out with a freshly printed diploma. You snag your first job—and immediately, you’re buried under a pile of unwritten rules and day-to-day complexities that no one bothered to warn you about.

Programming jobs are no exception, even with the rise of coding boot camps: those accelerated schools that promise to teach you everything you need to know about coding in a matter of months.

As it turns out, whether you’ve earned a Computer Science degree or a boot camp certificate, odds are you’re still not 100% ready for your first real job writing software. The basic skills listed here—which you may or may not have learned in school—can help you get started doing real work with less hand-holding and fewer mistakes. We’ve divided the list into three categories: technical skills, habits and mindset, and soft skills.

The eight essentials of innovation

It’s no secret: innovation is difficult for well-established companies. By and large, they are better executors than innovators, and most succeed less through game-changing creativity than by optimizing their existing businesses.

Yet hard as it is for such organizations to innovate, large ones as diverse as Alcoa, the Discovery Group, and NASA’s Ames Research Center are actually doing so. What can other companies learn from their approaches and attributes? That question formed the core of a multiyear study comprising in-depth interviews, workshops, and surveys of more than 2,500 executives in over 300 companies, including both performance leaders and laggards, in a broad set of industries and countries (Exhibit 1). What we found were a set of eight essential attributes that are present, either in part or in full, at every big company that’s a high performer in product, process, or business-model innovation.

Since innovation is a complex, company-wide endeavor, it requires a set of crosscutting practices and processes to structure, organize, and encourage it. Taken together, the essentials described in this article constitute just such an operating system, as seen in Exhibit 2. These often overlapping, iterative, and nonsequential practices resist systematic categorization but can nonetheless be thought of in two groups. The first four, which are strategic and creative in nature, help set and prioritize the terms and conditions under which innovation is more likely to thrive. The next four essentials deal with how to deliver and organize for innovation repeatedly over time and with enough value to contribute meaningfully to overall performance.

I toured New York City's largest wastewater-treatment plant, which collects poop from 1 million people. It was stunning.

The plant originally built in 1967, recently underwent a $5 billion renovation and expansion. It accepts 250 million gallons of wastewater each day from oilets, sinks, and storm drains. An engineering marvel cleaning people's poop — with stunning design elements.

5G For Business

When the Wright brothers invented the airplane, it fundamentally altered how we experience travelling. It wasn’t just about speed. Yet, it was great getting from one city to another in less time. But flight also gave us thrill of defying gravity and soaring to new heights.

Flight became a new user experience for every traveller – the space-age feel of the airport, the visceral rumble in the chest as the turbine engines fire up, the press of G-force as the plane accelerates down the runway, the flutter in the stomach as the plane leaves the ground, the exhilaration of bursting through the clouds cruising at 30,000 feet.

Just as the airplane fundamentally changed the travelling experience and set off a chain reaction of innovation, so too does 5G promise to alter the nature of our digital experience.

Some hear 5G and just think it means faster connection speeds. However, it goes beyond that. As it matures, 5G is expected to alter the very DNA of our user experience in dramatic, exciting ways – from leisure to healthcare to retail to manufacturing to finance and beyond. We will look at 5G as a new experience – and as a possible enabler of radically new ways to do business.

User experience = Speed + Latency + Reliability

5G is more than just speed. It is a conglomeration of technologies that will elevate and enrich the user experience from end to end

Here below is an overview of what 5G as a technology will ultimately be able to deliver:

7 Bio-Inspired Robots that Mimic Nature

The rise of robots in automation has led to many humanoid helpers. This can be best seen in collaborative robots (cobots) like Baxter from Rethink Robotics or the UR cobots from Universal Robots. The robotic arm is the new standard in automation assistance because we do not have to change the human environment for these robots to operate effectively. These human-like functioning robots can pick up, locate and place, and operate handheld machinery.

However, the human form is not the most efficient form for a robot to mirror. Sangbae Kim, leader of bio-robotics and professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, says that industrial robots are “designed to perform rigid and accurate position-control tasks in a fixed location…[however] manufacturing robots are not designed to control force in dynamic situations.” The goal of bio-robotics is to design a machine that can interact with its environment and dynamic situations like coming in contact with the ground. Kim points out that “when it comes to the mobile robot, the design paradigm must be completely different from industry robots.” Several companies and research groups have focused on biology-inspired robots to create more responsive machines that have an easier time manipulating their environment.
