Tech-Driven Shopping Experience For Visually Impaired

Mumbai-based Viviana claims to be the first mall in the country to be visually-friendly, and has established a novel marketing strategy by designing accessibility solutions for them.

The retail sector in the country has revolutionized as never before. The opening of malls across the length and breadth of India has redefined the shopping experience for customers. In all this excitement, however, a section of the society – the visually impaired – has been left out. To overcome this, Mumbai-based Vivana Mall is leveraging technology and driving a more inclusive shopping experience.

Viviana claims to be the first mall in the country to be visually-friendly, and has established a novel marketing strategy by designing accessibility solutions for them. As part of this initiative, the shopping destination, in collaboration with XRCVC (Xavier’s Resource Center for the Visually Challenged), has launched audio-tactile store labelling system, floor maps and directory, and Braille menu cards in all the restaurants.
